Who wants a minnie-cure? OPI Minnie style

Bonjour!

Well here it is - the first of many posts about nail polish!

Today I am showing you "Minnie Style" by OPI from this summer's collection Couture de Minnie

Minnie Style is a red and white glitter in a clear base. It is a little tricky to apply as the glitter tends to slide around on the nail, but I am a pro at this, so I will share my top tips...

1. Use an under coat - I used a pale silver (OPI birthday babe) but with hindsight maybe a red would have been better.

2. Dab the polish onto your nail and move the glitter particles around to where you want to place them.

3. You need to build it up. I used about 3 or 4 coats for total coverage.

4. Removing it is hell - I have no sensible top tips for this!

I liked the colour but felt it was too "festive" for sunny summer days. A great glitter for my collection but one best suited to Christmas cocktails (or maybe 4th July over a blue base?)

This one is limited edition so grab it while you can! It is also the only polish from the collection that is not included in the mini set. Available from most beauty salons RRP £11.50. You can usually get online for a bit cheaper. I paid about £10 for mine, but I just spotted some on amazon for around £7 - various suppliers (click here to buy)

OPI release their 2013 fall/winter collection this week - San Francisco! So stand by for lots more nail posts.

Sometimes I wish I was not SO obsessed with OPI Minnie Style but then I would not be able to have a sparkly little "Minnie-cure!"

Thank you for reading x

  1. Like you Leanne, I too am a nail polish junkie. I guess there is a knack to getting the sparkly bits evenly placed around the nail and not ending up with a clump!.. practice... Maybe for your next blog you could review the OPI shatter...
