Pink Friday!

Happy Friday..... And it's a pink one with OPI Pink Friday from last year's Nikki Minaj collection.

It reminds me of strawberry milkshake and I love it!

Every girl needs a sweet pink nail polish and this is one of my favourites.
Buy it here

So here we go - introducing Pink Friday!

A short and sweet post tonight - as it's Friday. But it's always a good time to think pink!

Thank you for reading x

PS - it's been a pink Friday for me for sure...........

Itsy bitsy dragonfly print dress - OOTD

The sun has continued to shine, so I continue to wear my summer clothes. Days of wearing light-coloured dresses without coats and tights are now surely numbered, as September is nearly upon us.

Today's OOTD is a pretty dragonfly print dress from Oasis.
Mine is two years old, but if you want to buy a dragonfly print dress, there are some online here and here.
If you like dragonflies, I have just spotted these sweet little dragonfly earrings on ASOS here (check out the low price!!!)

Even though this dress is white it is actually quite a good transitional dress as it can be worn over leggings or skinny jeans, with a chunky cardigan and boots into autumn.

I am quite into texture at the moment, and what really makes this dress interesting is the bow detail on the shoulders.

Belt from H&M
Necklace by Folli Follie buy it here

Shoes from Moda in Pelle (similar in a wedge heel - here)

Nails are Alcatraz Rocks by OPI - this polish is really growing on me so watch out for a review of it on the blog soon (maybe next week) buy it here

Sunshine? - White Dress - OOTD

On August Bank Holiday Monday the sun was shining, so what better excuse to put on a girlie dress and go out for lunch?  I love white sundresses (I have about four), but you can only really wear them when the sun is out! However, the advantage of a white dress is that you can pair it with any other colour. Here I chose bright red.

Dress - Coast (old) similar here.  Other nice white dresses here and here.

Statement necklace - Oasis
Check out Polyvore for links to loads of different flower necklaces here

Belt - Accessorize. Lots of red belts (all budgets) on Shopstyle here
Ring - Accessorize (Quite new - should still be in stores now!)

My shoes are really, really old (anyone remember Faith? I still have TONS of shoes from Faith).  I can't find anything similar online, sorry - Fashion Blogger Fail!

And here's a top tip: never ever run across the road in shoes like this! Actually, never run anywhere in shoes like this - just walk, it is safer!

3D Petals / Wedding guest - OOTD

On Friday I was a guest at the most wonderful wedding - every little detail was perfect and the bride looked absolutely beautiful in one of the most elegant dresses I have ever seen.

I always seem to get stressed out finding something to wear at a wedding but I got this dress back in May, so I was feeling very organised this time.

I really loved the 3D petal detail on the top of the dress and at the sleeves.

After wearing this dress I have now got the 3D floral bug (this is what happens to me!), so to get my fix I have just ordered some items online at ASOS.

This pretty top and this floral collar.

I decided last minute to get a new clutch bag (I have LOTS of clutch bags but you can never have enough) and managed to grab one in the Coast sale.

Shoes were not a problem, as my nude Louboutins matched perfectly (last seen on the blog here)

I walked, stood and danced in them all day and night; on account of the heel that is thinner than a pencil and the very low cut at the toe, this was quite an achievement!

I just love weddings - they are the best excuse ever to get dressed up and everyone is so happy and fabulous!

Enjoy the rest of the August Bank Holiday!

Shoe Show and Tell - Christian Louboutin Pigalle

Hi everyone!

I was going to do an OOTD today, but I changed my mind and decided to do something a little bit different and present my first shoe post. Yes a whole post devoted to one pair of shoes! Those of you who know me know that I love shoes!

Ooh what's in the bag?

It's my black patent Christian Louboutin Pigalles...

The Pigalle shoe is one of Christian Louboutin's most iconic designs. Mine are calf skin leather with a 100mm heel. They are also available in a 120mm heel but are VERY difficult to walk in (training required). The 100mm height is much more manageable, so if you want to get your wear out of them I would go for the 100mm height.

These were my very first pair of Louboutins. I have had these shoes for nearly two years and have worn them more than any other item I own (not including winter coats but probably including blue jeans!)

They go with everything and make any outfit look good! They give a classic look to dresses and pencil skirts, either for the office or for nights out. They look good with black tights in the winter and sexy with skinny jeans to dress up a casual outfit. They have a very low cut at the toe and at the side of the foot so I think they look best with bare feet to show the toe cleavage.

If you love them and want them, you can buy them online here - although I would recommend going to a store to get them (so you can try them on) as the sizing is a little erratic.

I hope you all have a fantastic bank holiday weekend. I am attending a wedding tomorrow and a BBQ on Saturday, so I won't be posting again until Sunday (when I am all partied out).

Thank you for reading x

I will leave you with some wise words from Marilyn Monroe (I have this picture stuck inside my shoe wardrobe).......

Nails of the day - Berlin there done that!

Hi everyone! It's another nail polish post today. From last year's OPI fall/winter "Germany" collection - "Berlin there done that!"

OPI describes "Berlin there done that" as A traveling taupe that’s seen it all. (Yep, that too).
I would describe it as a creamy mink!

Either way - it's a must have neutral for your collection.

You only need 2 coats of this for a glossy opaque colour that matches most outfits.
It is still very easy to get hold of. I found some on Amazon for a pretty good price here

Oh - and if you like my mug? It's by PIP studios.

Sometimes I wish I was not so obsessed with neutral nails... But then I wouldn't have a polish I can wear for a week and not worry about it clashing with outfits.

PS - I have Berlin done that.....and it's a fabulous city (and really cheap to eat and drink!) You must go!!!

Colour-blocking red and yellow OOTD/OOTN

Happy Monday (if there is such a thing???!!!)

Thanks for all of your support so far, and if you have not already liked the brand new Little Madam a la Mode facebook page - please do so here

This was Saturday evenings OOTN....

simple bright red peplum dress with contrasting canary yellow shoes.

My dress was by Mango but it went so stupidly low in the sale that they all sold out. There are other red peplum dresses online - see here

Shoes by Christian Louboutin. I got them in Paris in June and I am absolutely in love with them!
The only place I can find them in yellow on-line is from German concept store APROPOS in Dusseldorf. See here.
I am absolutely dying to go to Dusseldorf by the way.

I kept jewellery to the minimum with necklace and watch from Folli Follie and a YSL Arty ring.
Clutch bag by Dune (last year).
Nails painted in "Red my Fortune Cookie" by OPI - buy it here

The great thing about a red dress is that you can wear it all year around. It is bright enough for the summer and a great festive colour for Christmas and the new year.

The excitement of the September Issue!

Hi everyone

Here is a post for a lazy Sunday afternoon. Sofa (or sun lounger - depending on if the sun is out where you are?) cup of tea, chocolate and September Vogue.

September Vogue is in shops now.......I love September Vogue. It's fashion heaven!

Those of you who love fashion as much as I do will know that the September issue of Vogue is the largest issue of the year, as we get ready for transition into the new season. Yes, it is jam packed with adverts from all the major fashion houses - but I love these as much as the magazine itself! Even if you can't afford to buy designer, you can be sure the high street will have similar versions and the adverts provide such inspiration for putting together looks and pairing colours.

Just look at these adverts from September Vogue. So ladylike....

Clockwise from top left - Michael Kors, Christian Dior, Ralph Lauren, Tom Ford, prada, Burberry Prorsum, Loewe.

This is the time of the year that I start to look forward to the new season and start getting excited about buying my new winter coat, gloves and boots etc....

The UK September Vogue tells us that pink will be on trend for Fall Winter 2013- fine by me!

And while we are discussing September Vogue.... I should just mention that if you are interested in how a major fashion magazine is put together, or if you are totally obsessed with Vogue editors Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington (like I am!), then the documentary "The September Issue" is a must watch (or a great gift for a fellow fashionista!). Filmed in 2009, it is a documentary following the process of the bumper issue of the magazine going to press.

Currently available on Amazon - buy here

Sometimes I wish I was not so obsessed by Vogue magazine….. But then I would not have an ever increasing collection of fashion magazines that seem to take over my house!

Enjoy your Sunday!
