Manicure Monday - OPI Kiss me at midnight

The OPI holiday collection for 2013 is now available.

The collection contains 18 shades but so far I have only tried one - the liquid sand "Kiss me at Midnight" a beautiful blue liquid sand. "It's time to fall in love with this frosted ice blue"

For those of you who have other blue liquid sand polishes and want to know "is it worth owning them all?"

I would say yes - you can never have enough polish!

Teal jumper and sparkle boucle mini skirt

Last weekend I went into Leeds on Saturday for cocktails and dinner (yes that's right - no shopping!)

Outfit details:

Top - Oasis (very new, just bought it - but I can't see it on the website!)

Shoes - Christian Louboutin

 I accessorised my new teal jumper with gold and red

The skirt is super cute. I will probably live in this for the whole winter.

It was the first outing for my new dark red Louboutins

As for the cocktails, there were a few but highlights included:

Black Forest Martini - An espresso martini with forest flavours, vodka, coffee liqueur, espresso and raspberry, with white chocolate foam sprinkled with raspberry dust.

White Cosmo - A frozen orchid in vodka, elderflower liqueur, Cointreau, citrus, white grape juice and lemon bitters.

Green and gold sequins and a checked skirt

One of the best things about autumn/winter is wearing little skirts with tights and boots.

I have recently bought this cute little checked skirt from ASOS, and it's now reduced. This is very irritating for me! (see here) 

I wanted to take it for an outing. The colour combination of green and gold matches a jumper that I got from Karen Millen a few years ago.

This was the perfect outfit for walking to my local pub on a crisp November day.....

And ordering lunch!

But I hate it when food is served on a chopping board, just give me a plate!

Louboutins & Cocktails - Happy Birthday to me!

Yesterday was my Birthday and I would like to thank everyone for my presents, cards and birthday wishes.

Some of my main presents were shoe-related (no surprise there).

I got a beautiful coffee table book about Christian Louboutin. This was published two years ago but I have never got around to buying it, so it was a lovely surprise for me to open from my husband.

To celebrate my birthday I took the day off work to do my favourite things: shopping, cocktails and dinner.

First stop Harvey Nichols, to buy some new shoes from my Birthday money. I might have mentioned before that I am obsessed by shoes.

My new shoes - "Completa" in imperial rouge by Christian Louboutin:

I have been looking at these on-line on Net a Porter (see here) for a few weeks, but they are out of stock in my size. I didn't think they stocked them in Harvey Nichols, (they were not there when I looked last month). Yesterday they had only one pair in stock - and they were my size!!!! so the universe was telling me to buy them!

So after some more shopping, (intoxicated by my "shoe-high") it was time to hit the cocktail bars and get intoxicated by..... (the first cocktail was called "Metropolitan Girl"...... And oh I really can't remember the rest.....but they were all so pretty!)

Shopping, new shoes, cocktails and dinner at Angelica - the perfect way to forget you are now a year older!

Beautiful winter coat alert!

It's the most wonderful time of the year..... time to buy a new winter coat!

This year, I was a little later than usual. I normally choose my winter coat in late August / early September when they first hit the shops, then we have a spell of warm weather, and it is hanging in the wardrobe waiting to be worn and I get cross.

This year I was more focused on buying a new handbag, but I called into one of my favourite shops, just for a look not to buy anything.... and I fell in love with a coat that had not caught my attention at all on their website....

And you can guess what happened next....

The coat is extremely fitted, not really appropriate for wearing over big thick jumpers, but that's fine I have loads of coats for that. This coat looks best worn over a short skirt with pretty tights (as it is so fitted it looks like a dress.) It also looks good over skinny jeans worn with high heels.
